As a Platform for Good, our efforts have been consistently growing, and we are now measuring our social value through the Planet Mark organisation to better understand our contribution.

Planet Mark has now certified our social value contribution for 2022, totalling £28 million.

Social value quantifies our net social and environmental benefits to society across five key areas:

  1. Our people - health and wellbeing initiatives at Clear Channel, employing apprentices and vulnerable people

  2. Community activities & staff volunteering, including Keep Britain Tidy litter picks and Brixton Finishing School partnership

  3. Donations - supporting charities with free media space

  4. Procurement - implementing contracts with ethical and sustainable criteria

  5. Environmental impacts - investments into reducing our carbon footprint

Social value is crucial for companies aiming to create a positive impact on society while ensuring sustainable business growth. By aligning with organisation like Planet Mark, we're setting a new standard for Out of Home while demonstrating how we’re tangibly delivering on our mission of creating the future of media.

As part of our holistic approach that goes beyond carbon reduction, we aspire to continue to grow our social value annually through our Platform for Good initiatives as well as collaborations with local authorities.

To provide a minimum reporting standard for social value, Planet Mark uses the national TOMs measures developed by the Social Value Portal.

Planet Mark has also been providing us with business certification for our sustainability efforts since 2021 as part of our commitments to become Carbon Net Zero across Scope 1 and 2 by 2030 and Scope 3 by 2045.

Planet Mark is an internationally recognised certification which acknowledges continuous improvement and encourages action through rigorous measurement of carbon and social data, providing confidence and transparency around progress.
